Any good tips for first time competitors in the US Bank Pole Peddle Paddle? Specifically the running leg?

The faster you run, the better you're time will be.

In all seriousness, the most frustrating thing about the run is that you've got people of all different levels intermingled with each other. You need to pick your pace and go with it because you never know if someone passing you is 10 years younger and in an elite division. Just run your race.

If you are doing the race by yourself I highly recommend doing a few 'bricks' (bike and then immediately run workout) for practice before the race. The legs respond quite a bit differently after you get off your bike...Otherwise the run leg is like any other run leg...some years are hot and some are cold, but proper hydration and nutrition days before the event up to the day of are vital. Run hard and good luck!
